From the Florida Coast to the Dessert: The Yard Goes West!

The Yard Milkshake Bar just keeps growing. In the past 2 months, we have been busy bringing the boys and girls to 3 new Yards! We now have locations in Destin, FL, Madison, AL and Phoenix, AZ for you to enjoy our instagrammable shakes, sundaes and more.

Sea Turtle

Destin, Florida

The Yard Destin opened in March at 4419 Commons Dr E, Destin, FL 32541. Grab an over the top shake of your own creation and dip your toes in the water at the Crystal Beach access just 5 minutes away. The Destin exclusive menu special is called The Sea Turtle, which consists of Praline Pecan and Butter Pecan ice cream with green and blue marshmallow cream in a chocolate iced jar rolled in crushed cone. It is topped with whipped cream, chocolate and caramel drizzle, a Turtle candy and chocolate sea turtle!

Graham Slam Madison AL.jpeg

Madison, Alabama

Next up is The Yard Madison, which opened in April at 503 Town Madison Blvd, Madison, AL 35758. You can pick from one of their 18 specialty shakes and sundaes and head just 10 minutes north to the Madison Gazebo in Downtown Madison to watch the old timey train go by and catch a live band in the Summer. This Madison exclusive menu option had to boast the city’s love of their baseball team the Trash Pandas with The Graham Slam shake. This shake consists of Graham Central Station ice cream in a chocolate iced jar rolled in Rocket City sprinkles. It is topped with whipped cream, crushed graham crackers, more sprinkles and a baseball cookie dough pop!

Camel Back

Phoenix, Arizona

Most recently, The Yard Phoenix opened in May at 50 W Jefferson St, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Phoenix is known for its outstanding hotel resorts, with elaborate pools and desert gardens, Southwest-infused fine dining, luxurious spas and championship golf courses, so there won’t be a shortage of things to do. While you are there, you have to try the Phoenix Yard exclusive shake Camelback Mountain! This shake has Orange Blossom ice cream in a vanilla iced jar rolled in blue sprinkles. It is topped with orange and yellow whipped cream, a chocolate star and blue sprinkles!

All three locations are open and ready to serve you and your family with fun, delicious sweet treats and a good time! Check which locations are nearby on your next vacation, because we are growing as we speak. Follow our Facebook page for updates on new locations coming near you!

(P.S. We will be announcing another location very soon as well as some other fun things we’ve been working on by the end of June!)

National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend

Did someone say Girl Scout Cookies?!

Yes! We did. Here at The Yard we have been having so much fun creating fun monthly specialties with Girl Scout Cookies. We kicked off this 3 month long official collaboration with the Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama at the beginning of January.

As February begins to wrap up, we look back at our fun specialties that we created with the Girl Scout Cookies and look forward to March!

We were having such a blast with this collaboration that we invited one of the troops to come take a peek at our flagship store in Gulf Shores, AL.

Although it was a fun experience for the girls to eat ice cream and hear about our collaboration, they also received some handy dandy marketing information from our Co-Owner and Co-Founder, Chelsea Green.

Chelsea answered many questions and helped the troop come up with ideas on how to sell Girl Scout cookies - even with the obstacles of COVID. She explained online marketing and how to spread the word. Chelsea gave insight on the creativity of marketing and how to adapt to obstacles.

Furthermore, our Chief Of Operations, Ali Green, talked to the girls and displayed how to build a milkshake. She touched on her duties as a COO and how she also is able to overcome obstacles with creativity.

To continue helping the Girl Scout Troops, we celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend and ask you to purchase from a local troop near you!

Here is the >> link <<< for finding booths, and at the bottom of the page, you'll see the Grubhub links for each area.

Topped with a circus themed canopy whipped cream in bright red and white and delicious caramel popcorn, this shake is sure to bring you back to those circus benches from your childhood memories.

Peanut Turtle Brownie Sundae™ is the reminisce of all the carnival sweets that compliment peanuts and chocolate well and it’s sprinkled with caramel popcorn: a carnival delicatesse.

Let’s give ‘em pumpkin to talk about.™ is our fun twist of mama’s good ol’ pumpkin pie that fills the air with its aroma during the fall. You know… the fresh out of the oven smell that lingers, makes your mouth water, and hugs you like a warm blanket to bring you comfort. Yes, this special will definitely give you pumpkin to talk about.

So come on by and have one of our carnival themed inspired specials and let your taste buds carry you to the good ol’ days.

Additionally, we have our Baby Yoda Sundae to celebrate the new season of The Mandalorian.

National Dessert Day

Specials.png

It’s National Dessert Day and today we talk about pies! Yes, pies! It doesn’t get any more American as Apple Pie, or so the saying goes.

For the month of November, The Yard will be taking orders for ice cream pies. You heard that right folks. A delicious concoction of toppings, ice cream, and the perfect crust to compliment all of the flavors we store in house.

As you may already know, The Yard is anything but conventional, and we are always coming up with great ideas to satisfy the sweetest of cravings. As we divulged into our research to create the perfect pie crust for our delectable Ice Cream Pies, we came across some great history pertaining pie crust.

The further we got into our pie crust research the creepier it got. Convenient for Halloween? We think so!

According to the piecounsil.org, pie crust was originally known as a “coffyn” in England around the 12th century. A coffin?! Sounds spooky if you ask us!

Furthermore, these “coffyns” were made for meat pies and not sweets. They were not made to be eaten, but instead constructed to hold food for baking and to keep around, such as our common cookware or tupperware respectively.

Thankfully, the pie crust eventually evolved into the sweet, tasty pie crust we use today!

During our journey, we made several crusts until we made the perfect crust for our ice cream pies. After several taste tests and multiple crusts, we finally landed on a graham cracker base crust that compliments our ice cream flavors exquisitely. We either go big or go home, and we never settle for anything other than the best.

We strive for originality and our Ice Cream Pies are definitely unique and a must try during the month of November!

Check out the options below.

The Yard Milkshake Bar is a unique milkshake and ice cream locale that offers imaginative, over-the-top treats. Established in 2017 by husband and wife team Logan and Chelsea Green in Gulf Shores, AL, their distinctive concept of outrageously delicious milkshakes has reached tremendous popularity nationwide. The company’s milkshake designs are an exciting and refreshing take on an All-American family favorite.

In addition to their ever-expanding customer and social media following, The Yard Milkshake Bar’s success has been further bolstered by their recent appearance on the television show Shark Tank. In just the few short years since opening, the public’s large demand for these unequaled milkshakes has led them into the franchise market, which now brings a location to Flowood, MS.

IMG_2529.jpg

Owner of this franchise, Chris Ulmer - a retired United States Air Force veteran, first recognized The Yard Milkshake Bar’s potential when he visited a location with his family.

“Our first experience with The Yard Milkshake Bar was while on vacation in Gulf Shores.  Once I saw the excitement on the faces of our children, as well as virtually everyone else in the restaurant as they received their milkshakes, I knew immediately that this concept was something special, and definitely something that we wanted to be a part of!”

These delicious treats are certain to create a fun experience for the whole family and allow for a break in the going-back-to-school ruckus. With 35 flavors of ice cream and numerous toppings, the combinations are endless! There are also choices to accommodate gluten-free, lactose free, and vegan diets.

In honor of the new Flowood, MS location, The Yard Milkshake Bar is introducing a new signature milkshake named “Let The River Flow” which features the local treat, Piroulines. It is made with Midnight Caramel ice cream in a chocolate dipped jar rolled in graham cracker crumbs, topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, two Piroulines, and garnished with graham cracker crumbs. Delicious!
